Industrial Engineering Capstone Program

Join a team of 3-6 senior industrial engineering students who will have at least one prior full-time internship or co-op experience, and will partner with industry leaders for their capstone to resolve a complex problem using industrial engineering skills and tools.

The fast track to earn bs/ms degrees

The Industrial Engineering program offers an accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s program. ABM program is a unique opportunity to pursue both a bachelor's and a master's degree at WVU in the same or related disciplines in an accelerated time frame. To be eligible for the ABM, students must meet the requirements for Attaining Multiple Curricula.

Undergraduate Research

The WVU Industrial Engineering Capstone Program aims to develop mutually-beneficial relationships with businesses in the community and senior-level industrial engineering students, by providing industrial engineering support. The WVU IECP supports and coordinates the senior design projects for graduating seniors.

The discipline of industrial engineering has a rich, ever-increasing diversity of applications. Traditionally, industrial engineers have been employed by manufacturing companies to do facilities and plant design, plant management, quality control, ergonomics, and production engineering.  As an industrial engineer today, you can be employed in almost any type of industry, business, or institution.  Because of your skills as an industrial engineer, you are more widely accessible and in greater demand among more industries than any other engineering discipline.

Brianna Buccini

Brianna Buccini, an industrial engineering student minoring in data analytics, has allowed her involvement with student organizations and hands-on research to take her to new heights. As a Statler Ambassador and former Vice President of the Institute of Industrial and System Engineers, these experiences have landed her internships at Wabtec Corporation, Center for Entrepreneurial Studies and Development and MSA Safety.
